Step-by-Step Summary
- Remove Bar Ends: If you have separate bar end plugs, pry them out.
- Loosen Collars: Locate the small hex bolt on the lock-on collar(s). Loosen them until the grip slides freely.
- Slide Off: Pull the old grip off. If it sticks, twist gently.
- Clean Bar: Wipe down the handlebar surface to ensure no dirt or grease is trapped under the new grip.
- Slide On: Slide the new grip on. Ensure it is fully seated against the end of the bar (or brake lever).
- Orient: Rotate the grip to your preferred position (logos up, or specific ergonomic zone alignment).
- Tighten: Tighten the collar bolt(s) to spec (usually very low, 2-3 Nm).
[!WARNING] Do NOT overtighten lock-on collars, especially on carbon handlebars. You can crush the bar.
