Step-by-Step Summary

  1. Route Housing: Route the new cable housing through the frame's internal routing port up to the seat tube. This can be tricky—use a magnet or hooked pick if needed.
  2. Install Lever: Mount the remote lever on your handlebar.
  3. Measure & Cut: Determine correct housing length (allow for bar turn) and cut excess.
  4. Feed Cable: Feed inner cable through lever and housing to the seat post end.
  5. Attach to Post: Attach the cable barrel to the dropper post actuator at the bottom of the post.
  6. Insert Post: Apply paste/grease to the post and slide it into the frame while simultaneously pulling the housing from the front to avoid kinks.
  7. Tighten & Trim: Set saddle height, tighten seat collar clamp (checking torque!), tension the cable at the lever, and trim usage.

[!TIP] Do NOT overtighten the seat collar clamp. It can squeeze the outer tube and cause the dropper to bind/move slowly. Use a torque wrench.
